The History

D.D. Kinsman is a singer songwriter living in Buffalo NY. Born and raised in Ridgeway, Ontario Kinsman moved to WNY as a teenager.

He attended art school in Brooklyn in the late 70’s when it was still a dangerous place to live. After graduating he moved to Buffalo in the early 80’s.

Inspired by the New Wave and punk scenes Kinsman’s goal was to find a band to join. He decided to throw himself into studying voice, piano, guitar and music theory.

In 82 he joined a band called Section 8 where he became the lead singer playing shows at the Continental and various other venues. Soon after that he teamed up with Stephen Collins and David Kane to form the techno, prog, protest band, Nullstadt.

The band developed a loyal following over the next 10 years playing regular gigs all over WNY. They released a cassette titled “Mayday” with an accompanying video in 83. Followed up with a full length LP called “Flesh” in 1985. A couple of cassette releases followed. The bands last release was a CD titled “Godbox”.
